Thank you for donating to ZMCA. The main ongoing costs are webhosting, website software and printing costs of fliers, postcards and DVDs.  All of which volunteers and advocates for TZM provide for free to the public.

Your donation helps with all these costs and is appreciated. Thank you!

Tax Note: The Zeitgeist Movement (TZM) is not an organization (ie. Nonprofit, PAC, Company, etc) therefore your donation is not eligible for tax write-offs.  TZM consists of members of the public, acting voluntarily to promote TZM educational materials for free.

TZM MEETINGS

Anyone can hold a TZM Meeting. One needs but a basic understanding of the Movement & interest to create awareness toward a new system, to hold a meeting. All efforts, activism & events originate from "meeting up" with each other to share ideas & resources; developing a work environment for activism.

Building & expanding the Movement is all about initiative. Holding a meeting at one's home, cafe, park, or public area takes next to nothing, and that's the point, we want this to be fluid & accessible for those who do have that initiative, in which there are many. Find a place to meet, set a date&time, email the details to a coordinator, and the meeting will be emailed out to the LA membership so they can attend & help start up awareness efforts in a given area.

1.) Set a "Date, time, and location"

2.) Set an Agenda of what to go over (ie: introductions, ideas for awareness, projects, upcoming events, websites, open Q&A-TZM related discussion, etc.)

3.) Email the Details to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

*Meetings are how all of this started, and will continue to play a critical role in the expansion & productivity of the Zeitgeist Movement.

ONE PLANET PROJECT

The ONE PLANET PROJECT campaign is a simple local chapter project that directly engages each local community. An effective and creative platform for opening communication and education with the general public about our current world and the many problems we face as a global community today and heading into the future and how we can begin to work towards making a difference!

Ecuador, Chile, Canada, Paraguay and many other countries around the world, the ONE PLANET PROJECT is spreading the message to thousands!

OPP image 2 web

Please send your images or create a short video of your street awareness efforts and send us the link and it will get posted on the One Planet Project Website in the VIDEO and GALLERY section!

What you do:

1. Create your OnePlanetProject Binder:
This will contain your questions & answers, a place to write down emails, and other supporting information relating to the questions & answers discussed. Go here for Binder Material and other tools.

2. Engage the Public:
Visit a cultural hot spot, busy part of town, or go right outside your door and engage people with questions. Collect emails from people. Be sincere, stay emergent in your approach, and keep the interactions positive above anything. This is grass roots; we seek nothing less than to build a unified worldwide movement for social transformation.

3. Send an "Info Package" to the Collected Emails:
Send an "Info Package"(Click Here) to the hard earned emails you collected for people to join the movement. Then send the emails to the official OPP Contact Page (Click Here) so they can be counted in union with the global project numbers.

Many are active on an everyday basis by sharing the Movement's understandings and direction with others in passing as moments arise.

Awareness can of course be expressed in different ways. The 'how to' info within the "Action Teams" pages are just some of the ways we've had success so far and exist as a resource of experience gained to be carried forward and built upon, or to inspire new efforts all together.

Set up a day of Tabling Activism at a college, festival, market place, or green event? This kind of public interaction is what defines us as a Movement..

Tabling at local events gives us the community presence and public interaction which very much defines us as a movement. With local events going on every day across LA, there are many opportunities for us to participate with an info table and voice; bringing the activity of the movement to the community.

1.)  Find an Event to Table at:

http://kpfk.org
http://eventful.com
http://discoverlosangeles.com
http://www.sustain.ucla.edu/calendar
Festivals Guide 2012 - Los Angeles.pdf

This is only a short list of examples.  Check our local college/city/town calendars for event days that you can attend.  Many free events (such as farmer's markets) make it easy to go where the crowds are!

Free Local Magazines are a good place to look for an upcoming event.
Google Search: "you city name", "green", "events", "sustainability", "festival", "community event"

2.)  Secure a Spot at the Event:

When scouting for an event for us to table at look for the "exhibitors/vendors" link on the website to register a spot. Or, send the event contact person an email. Here's an example email:

"Hi, I wanted to know about getting a spot at the 'NewWorldFest' event coming up June 24 - 26th in Santa Monica.

My name is Brandon, I'm with The Zeitgeist Movement at Los Angeles. We're a sustainability movement, addressing some of the root causes of the problems we see in the world today, presenting many solutions and information on how to move into a green sustainable world by utilizing the best that science and technology has to offer. Thanks!"

Customize your email based on the event; It makes all the difference.

3.)  Gather Tabling Supplies:

*Essentials: Table, free information, and a voice

Table
Info Cards
Free Zeitgeist Dvds
Registration Sheet
Small Banner
Tent Canopy
Chairs

*Tabling Supplies available, email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

3.  Finalize:

Contact your local chapter coordinator about your event so they can post it on the calendar.  This way other members can show up and help advocate!

Tabling Activism is all about engaging the people in your locale and pulling in new members, strengthening our connection to the masses at the community level. Over time the increase of interest in your area, and throughout the world, will culminate in critical mass.

Many are already active volunteers just by sharing the understandings and values with other people every day in organic spontaneous ways, and by living the values of the movement and being in integrity with the personal/social transformation surely upon us.

Social activism can express itself in all kinds of ways. One Planet Project, along with the other "action teams" are just some of the ways we've had success so far, so they are offered as tools.

You're welcome to build upon and carry these actions forward however you may as you feel moved to do so. Take what you will from what has worked, and carry the movement forward. There's really no "box", to box this movement in. We are all kind of "coordinators" of self-initiated awareness efforts, just as long as we stay relevant to what TZM is, and is doing.

We're all together in this. Many are taking this information to the community in creative ways, uniting the culture around sustainability and peace.

Coordinate your own public Townhall Meeting with Presentations and Q&A session

1.)  Townhall Meetings:

What do we mean by Townhall Meeting? Click Here.  The public Townhall events usually consist of the following:

• An introductory video presentation (for example "An Intro to a Resource Based Economy"
• A series of Short presentations on relevant topics.
• Q&A session
• Info/Materials are available.

2.)  Find an Event Space:

Theater
Community Space
College Lecture Hall
Outdoor Stage
Church

3.)  Townhall Meeting Content:

Coordinate with speakers to present relevant topics at the event. Figure out who's presenting what, figure out how long each talk will be, and plan schedule

4.)  Getting the Word Out:

• Use images and messages through social media
• Put Townhall Flyer Cards in cafes, shops, and info boards.
• Organize local activism near the event location to promote the upcoming Townhall to the local community (ex: if the Townhall is going to be at a college, then set up a day of tabling activism on campus. Or, you might plan a day to go out and do some banner activism in the area.

Coordinate "Banner Activism" in your area, at a traffic intersection or freeway bridge during rush hour traffic. This kind of on the ground public interaction is what defines us as a Movement.

Banner Activism is where TZM members walk or display large Zeitgeist Banners in busy areas of the city. Hundreds of people see the banner giving the movement great exposure and community presence. (Visit the Banner Activism page!)

Here are some simple steps for coordinating a day of Banner Activism.

1.)  Pick a Location:

Freeways bridges, street intersections, beaches, parks...anywhere with large crowds.

*Previous Banner Activism Locations

Freeway Bridges
Intersections
Parks & Beaches
Runyan Canyon Park
Manhattan Beach

2.)  Pick a Date and Time:

Schedule at least 1 week ahead of time for others to participate.  Inform your local ZM Coordinator about your event!

3.)  Pick up a Banner:

Large and small banners available for pick-up. To arrange to pick up a banner or to order a banner of your own (Click Here!)

Banner Activism is a very simple and effective way to reach a lot of people. Many people have been inspired towards the movement after seeing a Zeitgeist Banner.
